Do you offer trial Forest School sessions?
On our Forest School sessions we do not offer trials. We know it's hard to commit to something when you aren't quite sure if it right for you which is why we try to offer so much information on this website. Forest School is a long term process and we feel it is so important to commit to trying it for at least half a term to know if it is right for you.
How old does my child need to be to attend Forest School?
Lots of toddlers start when they are comfortable on their feet at around 18 months but we often have babies come along with just their parents and immerse themselves in the woods and the community that meets there every week. We start charging for younger siblings when they are 18 months and there is a sibling discount on our termly Forest School sessions.
How much is each session?
You need to book your first term as a block and the price is listed on the booking page. It is £8 per week per child and either £4 or £6 for a sibling depending on which session you have booked. Elfin's is £2 per session on a drop in basis.
Where do I go and what do I bring?
On your first term when you sign up you will receive a link to a kit list and instructions on where to go.
Does the session take place if it is raining?
Absolutely! Some of our most memorable and exciting sessions have been in the rain. We only cancel for weather if we assess the risk to be too high, for example in the case of gale force winds or thunder and lightening. Your safety always comes first and we will tell you if this is the case.
Can I get a refund if I can't make it?
No, we cannot offer refunds in these circumstances. We have to pay for staff, location, equipment etc so we do not offer refunds.
Do I get a refund if you cancel a session?
In the event of a session calculation we credit your account with a session which you can either use on a different day of the week or the following term. Just let us know what you would like to do.
Do I need a level 2 qualification in forest school before I can do my Level 3 leader training?
No, as long as you hold the required entry qualifications you can go straight to level 3. You can find the minimum requirements on the Cambium booking form.
Do you offer CPD to schools and nurseries?
Yes we do, drop us a line and tell us what you are after and we will see if we can help.
I am thinking about training as a Forest School Leader, can I come along and observe a session?
Usually yes, please drop us a line and we will find a suitable session for you to come to meet us.
Can I bring an extra adult along to a session as a one off?
Yes of course, we will just need to add them to your medical form at the start of the session.
We no longer wish to attend our sessions, how do we leave?
At the end of each term you will be sent an invoice for the next term. On this there is a link to fill in a form to give your notice to leave. We will be sad to see you go!
